Recce Photos for 1 Minute Short Film

These are our recce photos for our 1 minute film. Our task title was 'In the life of...'
Me and my partner Alice decided to base our story on the life of a student who gets bullied at school by a group of girls.
We decided to use the school stairs for our closing scene, we thought that our character could be pushed down the stairs, finishing with a fade to black, as this leaves the audience thinking about what happened to the character.

This corridor will be one of the main places we will be shooting our film. We thought about maybe having the victim walking/running down the corridor away from the bullies. There are also lots of additional rooms off the corridor and many places we can film from and try different angles and shots. This area looks very narrow and clostrophobic, so this creates an atmosphere already.

We took some inspiration from the film Mean Girls. In the film there is a scene where a girl is sitting alone in the toilets eating her lunch. We thought that we could recreate this and were thinking about using a point of view shot over the cubicle door, so the victim looks vulnerable and watched. This sort of scene is also used quite frequently in these sort of story lines. They are often very successful and effective in showing a vunerable and innocent person/

This is the point of view shot we would like to use. We chose this area as there is lots of light and it will be easier and clear filming here than in a darker area. The high angle shot makes our character look small and targetable. Also, the small space makes our victim appear trapped. This has connotations of bullying and vunerability.
